Export delegation help grow demand for Australian genetics

Genetics Australia have had representation anda display at the past 5 China Dairy Expo”s. Oneof the largest exhibitions of its kind in the world,the Expo moves around major cities in China toaccommodate the large number of exhibitorsand visitors from around the word.

The 2019 Expo was of importance as it washeld in Tianjin, a major port city in north-eastern China and the home city of Genetics Australia”s Chinese Distributor. Tianjin wasalso the 1st Chinse city to have a sister cityrelationship with Melbourne and in 2020 thisrelationship has been established for 40 years.

While Genetics Australia has not been theonly Australian company represented at pastExpo”s this was the first year Genetics Australiawas supported by key Australian industryorganisations. Joining GA were both Holsteinand Jersey Australia and DataGene. Severalseminars and presentations were conducted ona wide range of advantages in using Australiangenetics. Topics of great interest to the Chinesewere Feed Efficiency, Heat Tolerance, A2, healthtraits and the importation of Australian heifers.

From the 1st shipment of GA semen sent toChina 2 years ago the demand has increasedto the stage where China semen exports nowrepresent more than 50% of total GA exports.
